The Kiddie Sunshine Centre was established in 1983 and provides child care for children from 12 weeks to 12 years of age. KSC is licensed to care for 4 infants, 16 preschoolers, 14 nursery school children and 15 school age children. KSC is located at #54 Centre Ave West, Altona. Operating hours: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Mon-Fri.
On January 1, 2022, KSC took over operations of the Rhineland Child Care (RCC), which is now a satalite location of KSC. RCC is located at #120 - 9th Street NW, Altona, in the lower level of the BLSD main office building. RCC is licensed to care for 4 infants and 16 preschoolers. Operating hours: 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mon-Fri.
We endeavor to help children grow in independence, develop creative skills and provide a variety of activities that stimulate each child's interests.
Philosophy of Care
We strive to develop the emotional, physical, cognitive, social and spiritual needs of children through a stimulating and interesting learning program.
Our philosophy is based on the belief that all children have a desire to be loved and respected, to learn and to be a contributor to the well-being of others. We attempt to provide a relaxed atmosphere in which the children have freedom of choice whenever possible. We encourage the children to develop independence, respect for themselves as well as others and to respect their environment.
